Antor Design was born out of my desire to create beautiful, unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that stand out from the rest. I carefully consider every detail and use quality materials in my work. Currently, it's a one-man shop, where I, Peter Antor, design and fabricate each piece. I want to create work that will last a lifetime. It's an ambitious goal, but without high standards, it's easy to make compromises and take shortcuts.
My journey began when I pursued an interest in metalsmithing and sculpture at Grand Valley State University. During my undergraduate years, that interest became a passion, leading me to pursue a Master's degree in Metals and Woodworking at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. After finishing school I worked multiple jobs where I could continue to learn and improve my artistic skills. I worked as a resident artist for two years, a visiting professor for three years (teaching metals and 3d design), and I worked as a fabricator at a custom cabinet shop. All of these jobs allowed me to grow as an artist, enhanced my sense of design, and improved my craftmanship. After almost 20 years since my journey began, it was time that I started my own thing.
